Team Description

We are ARUS Andalucia Racing Team, from the University of Seville. Started back in 2012 as the first team on the south of Spain, we have been participating since 2014. eight combustion and six electric cars manufactured.

This our third year as DV and have just made a great leap in technology, changing to monocoque and 4WD in a single season.

Never give up and always cheer our car in the best and the worst moments are the values that describe this team as one of the best family in Formula Student. And if you don't believe it just listen to us in when the ART goes to the track!!

DV System Highlights Being our second year the main focus has been testing with last year's car, developing the full pipeline from scratch to adapt to ROS2 and Ubuntu server using C++. A graph SLAM is used which, together with a decoupled control, using linear MPC for steering and a feedforward PID for velocity. This has allowed us to reduce by 3 our lap times.

DV System Highlights In our first year as a DV team, our goal is to be as reliable as possible. To do so in the most challenging event, the Trackdrive, we developed a MPC controller based on real data from tests to better predict the car behavior and have a more robust control for the event after the first lap has been completed.

Info
ARUS, the first Formula Student team from Andalucía, southern Spain, was founded in 2012. Since then, they have designed and manufactured 8 combustion and 5 electric cars. In 2021, their electric car successfully passed scrutineering and completed the endurance race for the first time. And last year, they got their first overall podium in FS ATA. This year, the team has focused on optimizing performance, incorporating a new HV battery, while maintaining reliability through testing.

Info
ARUS in 2018, decided to face the great challenge of also designing an electric vehicle. Every minor step was a huge success and required tremendous sacrifice but, despite all that progress, scrutineering proved to be too much for our car the first two seasons. The pandemic has given us extra time to keep working and now truly aim to compete in dynamic events, while also fighting for static event trophies.

ARUS-e joins the Formula Student Germany for the first time. As a counterpart to ARUS Andalucía Racing, the ART19-e is our second electric car, following the basis of the first prototype, made in 2018. Regarding all the mechanical knowledge and experience earned thanks to his combustion brother, this single seated car is ready to make a memorable first appearance in Formula Student Germany. We are not here only for taking part, we are here to break our limits.
