Team Description

Our project began back in 2000, we have since made 9 combustion cars and this is our 12th electric car. We are the only team in Finland competing in Electric Class. This year we will be competing with our fourth 4WD car and third generation carbon fiber monocoque.

Info
Metropolia Motorsport is one of the most northern Formula Student team in the world, and the only Finnish team competing in electric series. For this season we decided to make improvements to our design and manufacturability of our second geneneration CFRP monocoque and our third generation 4WD drivetrain. Alongside with the chassis and drivetrain updates we redesigned steering, new sidewings and frontwing, the LV electronics power distribution and datacollection for our newest vehicle HPF024.

Info
Metropolia Motorsport was found at the start of the decade and made the move from FSC to FSE in 2013. Now the team is proud to participate in FS competitions after 2 years of not being able to compete. HPF021 is Metropolia Motorsports first vehicle to introduce AWD and torque vectoring after developing RWD vehicles for 6 years. Metropolia Motorsports prototypes can have up to 80% of the components manufactured by team members since Metropolia provides great manufacturing capabilities.

Info
Metropolia Motorsport is the oldest Finnish Formula Student team, competing since 2002. The team consists of over 30 members, from Metropolia UAS and Aalto University. Main improvements compared to the previous car was the introduction of aerodynamic side-wings, development of self-designed ECU, redesigning of inverter package, and installing more sensors for data collection. This new car is at least 6 kg lighter, with more down-force. Vast majority of parts are made using university facilities.

Info
Helsinki UAS's third Electric FS racer, built by highly motivated Engineering students from the cold and dark north. High torque motors with compact and durable drivetrain makes the car fly. Very lightweight Aramid Fibre bodypanels with precisely calculated and manufactured wings and underbody keeps the car's 10" wheels strictly on the ground with very low air resistance at the same time. Low and centered gravity point added with perfect steering and suspension system makes the car the fastest.
