Team Description

The Scuderia Mensa HS RheinMain e.V. is the Formula Student Racing Team of the University of Applied Sciences RheinMain. Most of the engineers study in the faculties of Ruesselsheim. Since 2006 the team participates at FS-Events in Europe. The first Car - SPR08 - has been a combustion car which succeeded in Hockenheim in 2008. Until 2010 the combustion cars of the team were improved continuously and the era of combustion engines was closed with the 12th place overall at FSG in 2010. From that day on Scuderia Mensa only developed electric powered cars. The SPR11E was the first car which successfully participated at FSG 2011. The revolution on the technical side also brought a rise of membership in the team. After several years at FSE, we decided to build combustion car again.

The Scuderia Mensa Racing Team is proud to present their third Formula Student car, SPR10. Our team consists of 32 students from various courses of studies.Last year we took part in the Formula Student Events in Silverstone and Hockenheim. This year we will start at Events in Germany, Austria and Italy. Our new car SPR10 is based on the experience we gained in the last 3 years. The change between SPR08 and SPR09 seemed to be a revolution and SPR10 is a evolution. Our goals this year were reducing weight, improving the drivers comfort and safety and the most important thing: getting a more reliable car. Therefore we optimized e.g. our frame, the fuel feed system, electric system and the shaft drives. Also the engine management system was changed to MoTeC M400.We would like to thank our supporters and sponsors whose efforts are greatly appreciated and are looking forward to a good competition in Hockenheim and the other events.

Info
The Racing Team by FH Wiesbaden proudly presents its first Formula Student Racing-Car at the 2008-event in Hockenheim. From the idea of participation to the finished car it has taken almost two hard years. Our goals for the first year were to build a car which will pass all requirements and endure the event until the last day. Basis of our racer is a rigid, FEA-optimized steel tube frame which we have manufactured ourselves. The power serves a 4 cylinder 600ccm GSX-R engine. All inner moveable parts have been coated to increase the degree of efficiency. Together with our own developed GRP-airbox and an injection concept with 8 fuel injectors the engine has almost 100HP. Compared to other teams our car has big differences in the chassis concept. The shock absorbers are mounted at the frame underside and are pull rod actuated. All important parameters like camber angle, toe in or caster are completely adjustable. To all competitors and visitors we wish a successful and funny event!
