We - Raftar Formula Racing, the 35 memeber team from IIT Madras, are into our 8th year in the Formula Student arena. Having learnt from the past victories and experiences we have come to FSG 19 with our most reliable and fastest car yet. We have mainly focused on our goal of data driven design along with huge improvements in the composites and powertrain division to reduce the weight of the car. We are ready to #BLOOD.SWEAT.GASOLINE it out to show some great performance this year. #PEACE.POTIYA

Having participated in FSUK 2012 and FSG 2013, Raftar Formula Racing embarked on its third season. Fitted with a single-cylinder Honda CBR250R engine, we targeted excellent drivability and a competitive fuel economy. We worked to further enhance vehicle dynamics through a smaller wheelbase and a shift to 10” rims. Composite technology allowed us to use carbon fibre for an extremely ergonomic cockpit and a lighter streamlined bodyworks. A team of 30 highly motivated students bring you RFR-14.

FSG13 brought with it a new challenge to Team Raftar, as we redefined our goals & objectives, while retaining our passion and commitment. We began our Formula Student journey last year at the Silverstone and this year continue it at the Hockenheimring with a team of 30 enthusiastic and hardworking young minds. Our aims include large scale weight reduction, greater serviceability, and a balance between performance efficiency and driver convenience. We spent a large part of the year in detailed design and analysis leading to major changes in almost every subsystem. These included a changeover to the Honda CBR250R Engine, a new aerodynamics package comprising of wings designed to ensure better cornering, an optimized space frame chassis, an extremely lightweight and trustworthy suspension setup, streamlined FRP bodyworks and a careful study of ergonomics and driver comfort. We hope to outdo our expectations and lay a solid foundation for the evolution of the team over the year's to come.
