Team Description

PassionWorks – not only the name of our cars but also the guiding principle of our team.
The team of the UAS Munich was founded in 2005 and participates at the FS events since 2006. Actually the team consists of 50 members of many different faculties whose aim is to create a car which represents our team, the university and our sponsors.
This year, we‘re happy to announce that we designed a car that signifies a revolutionary step. Many new solutions can be found on our car with the four wheel drive being the most obvious one. Combined with many testing kilometers and a strong team, we want to improve upon last year‘s results. We are really excited about the upcoming competitions.
Passion is what makes the Formula Student so special and that´s why we are looking forward to having a great time at the FS events where we are interested in demonstrating our skills and abilities, getting to know how our work behaves in practice as well as having fun with friends and other persons from all over the world and getting connected to them.

Passionworks is the name of our cars and the guiding principle of our team. Founded in 2005, our team has been participating in FS since 2006. The PWx25 is equipped with four wheel hub motors, each producing a maximum output of 35 kW. At up to 20,000 PRM, they achieve a torque of 29 Nm each. Power is transsmitted to the Hoosier LC0 tires through a 1.5-stage gearbox with a 12.3:1 gear ratio. For a max. torque of 360 NM per wheel, we use a double wishbone suspension with a pushrod system.

The Formula Student Racing Team of the University of Applied Sciences was founded in 2005 and participates at the FS events since 2006. Actually the team consists of 80 members of many different faculties such as vehicle technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or business studies. Professors act for our interests towards the university and support us. Our aim is to create a car which represents our team, the university and our sponsors. The reason why we take part in FS events is to demonstrate our skills and abilities, share experiences and to increase our knowledge. In addition we want to know how our work behaves in practice, be present beyond the borders of Germany, represent our sponsors and acquire new supporters. We`re also interested in comparing us with other racing teams, enjoy having fun with friends and other persons from all over the world and get connected to them.

municHMotorsport 1 team – 2 cars. 2012 is year number 7 for the municHMotorsport team from the UAS Munich and year 3 competing in Formula Student Electric as well as in Formula Student Combustion. This season our overall slogan is “1 team – 2 cars” which outlines the strong connection of the combustion and the electric team. The 2012 FSE car, our PWe3.12 focuses on a massive weight reduction compared to the 2011 vehicle. Therefore we use a carbon fibre monocoque combined with our well developed suspension and two light weight DC motors - one for each rear wheel. Thanks to our university and the numerous sponsors and supporters this season we are looking forward to the FSG competition in August and are keen on meeting all our friends from other teams again. Passion is what makes the Formula Student so special. This is why our cars are named PassionWorks!

After the first participation of the municHMotorsport electric team at the FSE event in Hockenheim in 2010, we are full of anticipation for the next round in 2011. With an almost newly-formed team of about 50 highly motivated students of numerous faculties we have developed a completely new vehicle, the ePassionWing 2.11. Contrary to last year, the load-bearing structure of the new car will be a tubular frame structure which is surrounded by a laminated carbon paneling. A 100 kW strong engine, supplied by the swizz company Brusa, and a chain drive with the ratio 1:5 bring a torque of 1000 Nm to street. And the two battery containers on the left and right side of the car with a complete capacity of 7 kWh supply enough energy for this engine. Together with our strong partners we have manufactured a competitive car which will be recognized in Hockenheim and our complete team is keen on the challenge at the different events. Feel the passion with the municHMotorsport electric team!

Car #22
Info
In 2010 the newly founded municHMotorsport electric team participates in the start-up Formula Student Electric event in Hockenheim. The team consists of about 40 students which are facing the challenge of building a pure electric race car, the PWe1.10. Set up on the PW5.10 of the municHMotorsport racing team, we changed and adapted certain parts of the combustion engine driven car and implemented an electrical drivetrain. Additionally to the carbon-fiber monocoque and the steel tube rear car section we added a double-stage chain drive on the mechanical section of the car. The electrical drivetrain consists of one Brushless DC motor (Magnet Motor) with the dedicated power electronic and a self developed battery containment with LiFePO4 cells. One central processing unit (dSpace) controls the car via two CAN bus systems. Keeping track of building a reliable first year car we realized a solid solution together with our strong partner community.
