Team Description

STUBA Green Team is the only team in Slovakia that successfully represents our country and university at the Formula Student Electric competition. It has been operating since 2009 and currently consists of 16 active members, mainly students of the Slovak University of Technology. We regularly participate in European races and various other events related to automotive. During the existence of the team, we have been able to develop, design and construct 9 electric formulas.

Info
STUBA Green Team is a Slovak student team currently consisting of about 30 members. The team was established in 2009 at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Slovak University of Technology and has been taking part in FSE events ever since. Our 2015 formula car represents an apparent step forward in both engineering design and aesthetics.

Info
Stuba Green Team from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava was founded in the autumn of 2009 with the idea of developing student's electric race cars. The team has 30 members and consists mainly from students of Mechanical Engineering. Chassis of our second formula race car, the SGT-FE11 is designed on the basis of our first electric race car but further optimized with extensive computer simulations and the weight of chassis was reduced. The suspension is a double wishbone, with unequal length and non parallel arms at front and rear. Dampers and springs are actuated trough pushrods on both axles. According to the experiences that we gained during last year's season we have redesigned the whole powertrain concept. Electric propulsion system of our race car consists of one AC electric motor, double chain drive, limited slip differential and LiPol batteries. Electric system is maintained with our self-made battery management system and the central vehicle control unit.

Info
In September 2009 the idea to build an electric racing car was born. New group of students started to think about the concept of the future racing car. The most difficult part of the car was the electric propulsion system, what was for us not well known field. The propulsion system is based on two DC brushless electric motors. The electric energy is stored in LiFePO4 battery cells, with 84 V nominal voltage. The control unit controls both motors and realizes the function of clutch and differential. The mechanical part of the car is based about a tubular space frame, welded from high strength steel. The suspension is a double wishbone, with unequal length and non parallel arms at front and rear. Dampers and springs are actuated trough pushrods on both axles. To design and optimize the amount of relevant quantities, software like ANSYS, ADAMS, MATLAB and CATIA spared us a lot of time. We hope that all teams have a successful start at Hockenheim and the weather will be with us.
