Team Description
Mainfranken Racing at Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) is a non-profit association founded in September 2006 out of a shared passion for engineering and motorsport.
Following our transition to electric powertrains, we reached a major milestone with the MF15—our first fully operational autonomous vehicle. We are now pushing our technical capabilities further with the MF18, developing an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system to maximize performance, traction, and dynamic control strategies. This continuous evolution brought us great success, including 1st Place Overall & Driverless at FS Italy 2025, 1st Place Overall at FS France 2024, and 3rd Place Driverless at FS Czech 2024.
For us, Formula Student goes beyond theory. It is a hands-on learning environment built on teamwork, responsibility, and a continuous cycle: plan, develop, test, learn from mistakes, and come back stronger.

Mainfranken Racing e.V. was founded in 2006 by motorsport enthusiasts from the UAS Schweinfurt. The team consists of around 20 motivated students building the team's 17th race car. The drive concept includes a rear-wheel drive. Additionally, the focus is on applying the knowledge gained from last year's CRFP monocoque production and development. Furthermore, an important focus for this year's MF17 is to improve our driverless System.

Mainfranken Racing e.V. was founded in 2006 out of the idea of some motorsport enthusiastic students from the University of Applied Sciences Schweinfurt. The MF15 is the team's 4th electrical car the team is building. This year's goal is to integrate autonomous driving into our vehicle for the first time.
