Team Description

Aristurtle is a pioneering student research team at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki dedicated to designing, developing, and building electric and driverless race cars. The team was founded in 2013 and in 2016 Aristurtle built the first electric race car in Northern Greece. Since then, each year the team designs and manufactures a race car that competes in a series of international Formula Student competitions. In 2021, our team became the first and only team in Greece to compete in the driverless category, a distinction we hold to this day.

Aristurtle is a student team from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki designing and constructing electric and driverless single seaters. Since 2016, we’ve competed in Formula Student events, becoming the first Greek team in the driverless category in 2021. For the 2024–2025 season, we’ve built a new single-seater with four of our custom, in-house Aristurtle M2 electric motors. Forza Turtles!

Highlights of the DV system DV system based on a stereo camera to perceive its environment, utilizing an Extended Kalman Filter to know the vehicles state. For the optimal path of the vehicle we use a simple path planner implementing Delaunay triangulation. Finally we depend on a PI and a Pure Pursuit Controller for the vehicles velocity and steering control respectively.

Aristurtle is glad to introduce its 4th racecar and return to Hockenheim! The overall design concept revolves around weight reduction, reliability improvement and performance optimization. Key features are its new aluminum monocoque and radically revised aerodynamic package. The team is proud to develop in-house most parts. Among main areas of focus was the upgrade of control systems. Significant specs are the Regenerative Braking System and DRS. AMS, Telemetry and Datalogger are all custom.
