FormUL 2018 follows the design philosophy passed from generation to generation here at Laval University, which is to push forward the innovation and go beyond the limits of our car by self-designing every major component, such as electric motors, drive and accumulator. The 2018 race car is a 4WD, fully electric racing machine, powered by four water-cooled in-hub motors mated on 2 stage custom planetary speed reducers. Also featuring a complete aero package mounted on a light weight spaceframe.

The ULaval Racing team is proud to present its first ever electric prototype for its first participation at FSG! Built and designed from the ground up with our 5 guiding principles in mind, we present you a 4WD, steel space frame, 185kg racecar. Simulations tools were used from the beginning to guide our design choices in order to achieve the highest score possible.This car is simple, easy to drive and requires very low maintenance. Yet, it'll definitely give the driver a shot of adrenaline!
