In 2005 the Rennteam was founded by a group of engineering loving students with the task to build the fastest Formula Student car out there. Four years later in 2009, with the announcement of an all-electric category, a new team, called GreenTeam, emerged from the Rennteam.Since then the two teams have existed in parallel, sharing the same premises and achieved numerous successes. After 15 years, with the gradual end of the Formula Student combustion category, the two clubs have finally merged.

May we present: The E0711-7, the latest car made by GreenTeam Uni Stuttgart. This year’s overall goal has been especially challenging: our 35 team members aimed for 'Pfusch' at its finest. This has been achieved by the extensive use of gaffer and by colleagues asking questions like 'Does this part even have a function or is it just an aerodynamic component?' The overwhelming result: A nonetheless amazing car full of intended and unintended special features, a year full of work and fun.

After long days and nights in our workshop the E0711-4 is ready for competition. We spent a lot of time to design the new race car, which is absolutely able to compete. This year we designed a four-wheel-drive, optimized the aerodynamics and downsized to 10” rims. Our self-made control is the brain of the car, equipped with software for torque vectoring, traction control. For the monocoque we continued our sandwich-technology and decided for a full monocoque. Consequent lightweight-design in every part of the car lead to cutting the 200kg-line, saving about 40kg to the last years car “E0711-3”. The most noticeable innovation is our aerodynamic package which includes wings at the front and the rear. Now it is time for the E0711-4 to show its many improvements on the track!

After two successful cars - E0711-1 and E0711-2 - the GreenTeam has been dedicated to design a completly new electric racing car with a higher power to weight ratio and a more innovative concept. The new E0711-3 is characterized by a hybrid way of construction. The two most striking examples are the frame construction and the wheels. The forward section is a CFRP-monocoque with aluminum honeycomb in sandwich construction. The rear end is a tubular steel space frame. Especially the self-designed wheels: the rim well is made of CFRP, which is screwed with the aluminum rim star. With these methods we succeeded that the E0711-3 is 14 % (30 kg) lighter than the E0711-2. Now is the time that the E0711-3 puts his ability to the test at the Hockenheimring (Germany), at the Redbull-Racing-Ring (Austria) and at the Catalunya-Circuit (Spain).

GreenTeam Uni Stuttgart e.V. - the formula student electric team of the University of Stuttgart - was founded in 2009. This year the GreenTeam participates in the formula student electric event in Hockenheim for the second time. The team consists of 30 students from different fields of study, which are very engaged to construct, manufacture and build the second electric car generation - the E0711-2. The aim was to optimize the old car in different aspects. For example by increasing the efficiency, improving the driving control and battery cells and further reducing weight. Furthermore the vehicle features a variety of innovative components, such as the self-developed battery-management-system. So for the GreenTeam the course is set to live up to last year's success.

The GreenTeam Uni StuttgartThere is a new competition for cars with fully electrical drivetrains. Of course the Stuttgart Team did not want to miss this oppurtunity. In a very short time s a small group of former members of the Rennteam Uni Stuttgart and a handful Greenhorns formed a new team - the GreenTeam. Where green symbolizes not only ecological clean but also alternative concepts besides and on the race track. In only seven month the team developed a race car without CO2 emissions on basis of the former worldchampionship chassis. The E0711-1 is a race car of pure breed with two electrical motors in the rear serving each wheel seperatly. A tubular space frame, powerful Lithium polymere accumulators combined with a self developed battery management system and the benefits of the torque vectoring technique are the highlights of the E0711-1. We are looking forward to the exciting FSE competition and hope you are keeping yours green fingers crossed for us!
