Saar Racing Team (Saar Racing Car 06 - SRC06) Our team, the Saar Racing Team consists of 25 Students. We designed and built our 6th car, the SRC06 (Saar Racing Car 06). The goal of the 6th season was to design a car, which has a good drivability, high long-time performance and low weight. We reorganized the team structure due to the fact that many new members join our team. We managed to reduce the manufacturing costs and time. We analyzed the last season and used our grown FEA- and simulation-knowledge. We analyzed every part of the SRC05 and compared them with the experiences from road tests, the feedback from judges at the events and their requirements in the car. Our racing car was built more manufacturing friendly. We tried to complete the car very early, to have enough time for testing and tuning. This season, we are trying to get better placing in dynamic events, but we also concentrate on the static events, to reach a better overall placement.

Saar Racing Team (Saar Racing Car 04 - SRC04)Our team, the Saar Racing Team consists of 20 Students. We designed and built our 4th car, the SRC04 (Saar Racing Car 04). Using the same engine as last year we could increase the power output by improving the exhaust and intake system. In general, the previous car has been the base for the new one. We tried to improve most of the parts and to keep as many parts as possible. This year we reorganized and improved our project management. We managed to reduce the manufacturing costs and time. Our this year’s racing car was built more manufacturing friendly. We tried to complete the car very early, to have enough time for testing and tuning our car.This season, we are trying to get better placing in dynamic events, but we also concentrate on the static events, to reach a better overallplacing.

After the FSG event in Hockenheim 2007 thirty Students from almost every course of study at the University of Applied Sciences Saarbrücken decided to push the "Saar Racing Team" up to the next level.The nights were short,the days hard.Concepts were created,discused and rejected.We optimised every part of the SRC01.Just optimised?We constructed every part of the car new.Nothing is identical to the SRC01.We tested our new ideas in the old car from August to February and changed a lot parts and elements.As a result of all our hard testing and improving the SRC02 is 80kg lighter and faster than our previous model. Last year we build up our car based on the rule:Keep it simple, make it safe.This year we changed our aim to: More innovative, lighter, faster.With 76hp and 230kg we are much faster than last year.We are looking forward to a successful competition in Hockenheim and want to thank our University and Sponsors for their great support.For mor information see: www.saar-racing-htw.de
