Team Description

We are MAD Formula Team, the Formula Student team of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Since our foundation, we have worked with passion, dedication, and effort to evolve year after year, facing new challenges and pushing our engineering to the limit in every competition.

With almost a decade of experience, we have established ourselves as a strong and constantly growing team. This year, we take on a new challenge with our ninth combustion single-seater, the MFT-05, a car that reflects the talent, innovation, and hard work of our entire team.

More than just a competition team, we are a family united by our passion for motorsport and engineering. Perseverance, continuous learning, and teamwork are the values that drive us to improve each season and overcome the challenges of Formula Student.

We are a group of students who have united our personal goals to make something special happen, together. In the process, we want to push ourselves to the limit and we want to self-improve and improve as a team. During the pandemic, we decided to rebrand our team changing our name, logo and, most importantly, our mindset. We are designing our new car considering the four values that determine what MAD Formula Team is: Original-practical thinking, dedication, organization, and love.

Formula UC3M started back in 2016 with its first prototype C3-R16. Each year the team tries to achieve its maximum. The first prototype includes a complete aero package, our second car was a completely new concept. Our goal is simple: get good results putting together all the resources, experience and passion. In order to achieve our goals the team is always trying to improve the designs, manufacturing process, statics events and performance. This C3-R19 put all these goals together in a car.
