The Ignition Racing Team electric is a student association founded in 2006. Since 2011, we have been building cars with an electric drivetrain. After some hard years with the Corona pandemic and no running cars, we now have a young and motivated team. This year, we will participate in two competitions in Europe. With a newly developed monocoque, and optimized aerodynamic package, and for the first time an all-wheel drive system, we are looking forward to taking on the Formula Student events.

The Ignition Racing Team is the FSE Team of the UAS Osnabrück and was founded in 2006. The completely new developed Monocoque of the IR17 - Lizard optimized our Packaging of Components and decrease the CoG. The driver handle the vehicle in a much more laying position and new accumulators are placed in the sidepods. Rear wheel steering and a new aeropackage increase our performance and the new CAN-Bus system decrease the wires. We are looking forward to see you at FSG!

The design goals for our 5th electric car excess are reliability and efficiency. We strived for a weight reduction of 12% in comparison to the car of the last season and achieved this by exchanging the tubular steel frame structure with a carbon fibre monocoque and reducing the rim rize from 13" to 10". In addition to that we implemented rear wheel steering to improve our agility and driving performance. The IRTe would like to thanks all supporters and is looking forward to exciting FS events.

Infected is not just the name of our new car, it´s also the reason for many overtime hours the team from the UAS Osnabrück made. With the same thoroughness as the last years we constructed and built our new car, but with the ambitious aim to build a solid car and run the first meters in May. For the first time our formula style racecar has a Side Impact Structure and driveshafts out of carbon fiber. And now we are looking forward to the moment, when our car verify all his force on the track.

The Green Garnet is the third full electric car from the Ignition Racing Team electric. With a team of about 35 enthusiastic students we use the opportunity to improve a lot since the forerunner of 2012. For this year‘s development the design goals of overriding importance were the improvement of the efficiency and a more compact and maneuverable car. Based on experiences of recent years we had the aim to build a sophisticated car with great capabilities of development. Another important goal was a further weight reduction of the vehicle. We strived for a mass reduction of 7kg in comparison to the last year’s car. In addition to the mass reduction we wanted to make the car more compact which was realized by the reduction of the wheelbase by 90mm. We would like to thank our University, our Sponsors and everyone who supported us building this car and we are looking forward to an exciting FSE competition.

The Green Emerald is the second full electric car from the Ignition Racing Team electric. With a team of about 40 enthusiastic students we use the opportunity to improve a lot since the forerunner of 2011. For this year‘s development the design goals of overriding importance were reliability and simplicity. Based on experiences of recent years we had the aim to build a sophisticated car with great capabilities of development. Therefore we reorganized the tractive system by reducing the number of components forcefully. Another important goal was a weight reduction of the vehicle. We strived for a mass reduction of 20% in comparison to the last year’s car. This design goal could be undercut with a total mass of 242kg. In addition to the mass reduction we wanted to make the car much more compact. Hence we reduced the wheelbase and put the driver’s seat more upright. Last but not least we would like to thank all supporters. We are looking forward to an exciting event in Hockenheim.

For the current Formula Student season of 2011 the Ignition Racing Team designed the IR 11. Founded in 2006 the Team now starts with its new racing car into the fifth season. Thanks to the support of many new team members we were able to manufacture the new IR11. After last years good performance of the IR 10, the team decided to take up a new challenge. For the Formula Student season 2011 we decided to participate in the electrical competition for the first time. The IR 11 bases upon a tubular space frame and is powered by two permanent excitated water-cooled synchronous motors. The two Li-NMC batteries are mounted in the side pots. They provide enough energy to generate a maximum power output of 26kW per motor. Each motor directly transfers its torque to the rear tires by a chain drive. That makes a differential unnecessary. We would like to thank our University, our Sponsors and everyone who supported us building this car and we are looking forward to an exciting FSE competition.
