Alexandria University Motorsports (AUM) is a highly motivated team that aims to design a simple, functional and reasonable cost car and take part in FSG 2013. Enriching members' knowledge and practical experience is a major goal of our team along with teaching them team work. AUM 2013's car has new design objectives on the team and differs a lot from 2010 and 2012 car. Aerodynamic devices, Vehicle dynamics data acquisition system and many other things make this car an important shift in the team's career. To achieve light weight concept while maintaining stiffness we use materials like 4130 steel, 2024-T4 aluminum and composite material. Suspension Geometry and chassis dimensions have selected carefully to ensure the driver's comfort, car stability and smooth operation at all driving conditions.

The AUMotorsports Team 2012 car has been designed with an overall aim of simplicity and reasonable performance. Our former team took part in the FSG 2010 competition and they graduated the same year. Our team started 9 months after that with almost all freshmen; hence we’ve gained our knowledge through reading and analyzing the 2010 car. We’ve also used many parts from the old car as we already have the experience working with them. The car is designed with an overall weight goal of 280 kg including the 80 kg driver. The suspension system features adjustable camber, kingpin, castor and toe angles to test as many setups as we can. The data is to be analyzed and to help with the next year’s car development. The engine is turbocharged and managed through Megasquirt module.

Alexandria University Motorsports team (AUMotorsports). Year 2010 will mark our first entrance into Formula Student and we hope that it would be a good base for future progress. The current team is formed by 16 senior mechanical engineering students and is done as a graduation project too.As first timers we opted to work as simple as possible, the engine is nearly 100% stock and its tuning would be done with a piggy-back fuel control system. Frequent well known errors are avoided as much as possible. It was a tough and experience from which we have learned a lot and we consider ourselves luck and privileged to work on such project against all hurdles we encounter in our country. Looking forward for Germany and wish us luck!
