The countdown for the 4th Formula Student Germany from 5-9 August 2009 starts now! Early registration will be open from January 9, 2009. Regular registration starts on January 16, 2009. FSG 2009 offers starting grids for 78 teams.

In 2009 some changes have been made to the registration. Early registration is now available also for the Top Ten Overall Finisher of the FSG 2008 and for the Top Ten of the World Ranking (www.fs-world.org). By facilitating access of top teams to the starting grids, FSG aims to enhance the competitions's high quality. The world ranking list takes into account the last 6 competitions of each team during the last 3 years to reflect the continuity of the team’s performance and uses some corrections factors to emphasize the most recent results. As in 2008, FSG provides some early registration slots again to international teams: 3 teams from Australia and Asia, 3 from North America, 5 from Europe excluding Germany and 3 from other parts of the world.

Other changes concern the registration procedure of the registration. The run on the starting grids in 2008 has been an acid test for the FSG server. To prevent server problems in 2009, FSG changed the registration procedure in 3 main aspects: The first 30 minutes of the registration will take place on a separate server. Only the team captains (up to 3 are possible) can register the team for the event. And the car number has to be chosen after registering, so that registration is done before you try to assign the desired car number.

If you want to register your team to FSG 2009, please read the registration instructions carefully (see Event 2009 - Registration)!!!
