The autocross - Bernd Schneider, Mike Rockenfeller and the students

Category: Competition

The autocross, the discipline which for the first time tests the dynamic skills of the race cars, took place in the afternoon.

In advance Bernd Schneider, 5-time DTM overall winner for Mercedes-Benz, and Mike Rockenfeller, DTM-driver for AUDI, got the chance to drive the parcours themselves. Cheered by hundreds of visitors, both drivers could present fast laps for all teams to compete. Both drivers had really fun with “their” race cars (Loan of the racing teams of the Technical University of München and the University of Stuttgart) and for sure will visit the Formula Student Germany again.

After the coursewalk it was getting serious for all teams. During the autocross they had to proof their driving abilities and the agility of their race cars. The team of the Technical University of Braunschweig achieved the best time of 53.196 seconds. Tomorrow all qualified teams will start in the reversed starting line-up.
