Technical inspection and beginning of static events
Friday was the day of the static event, which consisted of Business Plan Presentation, Cost Analysis and Engineering Design judged by highly qualified automotive as well as business professionals.
At the end of Friday, more than 30 teams already passed the technical inspections as well as the break-, noise and tilt table test and can concentrate on the dynamic events starting on Saturday.
Highlight of the day was the visit of Dr. Mario Theissen, director of BMW Motorsports. While going through the pits, he was very interested at the event and turned out to be real Formula Student expertise. The BMW Group supports the Formula Student Germany as a sponsor.
Also Opel racing manager Volker Strycek visited Formula Student Germany to get an impression of the potential this design competition provides for participating students. Strycek teaches students of the TU Berlin in the course "Technics and management in motorsports" about the special tasks of future engineers in motorsports.
