Rule update for FSE Cost Event

Category: Competition

One part of the cost event is the calculation of total vehicle cost. To do so every team has to sum up the costs of every single part on the car. In order to aid this calculation the teams are provided with a list of standard prices for materials, processes, fasteners, tooling, etc. given by the rules. Unfortunately it is not possible to calculate a fair price for the motors of the FS Electric cars. That’s why the FSG Executive Committee have decided to update the FSE Cost Event rules.

For the FSE 2011 Cost event it is not necessary to cost the motors at all. The motor controller is not included in this statement. The motor controller has to be costed. In case of a not answered Add Item Request for motor controllers the price submitted in the Add Item Request has to be costed. A copy of the Add Item Request must be shown during the cost event when requested by the judges.

In the next days we will update the rules according to this announcement. Parallel we are working on a proper rule for next year.
