First dynamics day

Category: Competition

Today, the first dynamic events were held at Formula Student Germany in Hockenheim. In the morning, it began with the acceleration discipline, where the cars accelerate over a distance of 75 metres.  At the same time, the skid pad took place on the big dynamics area. Here the drivers had to prove accuracy and speediness by driving a parcours in the shape of the figure 8. Of course, time counts again and the driver with the fastest lap time wins.

In the autocross discipline, the race cars drive on a course of about 1 km on the big dynamic area. The challenge of this track through straights and curves focuses on handling qualities and driving dynamics. The FS Electric cars started the Autocross this afternoon, and afterwards, the FS Combustion cars entered the track.
The results of the Autocross determine the starting order for the Endurance which will take place tomorrow during the whole day for the FSC cars.

Next to the first FSE endurance race, tonight will see a world premiere, the first ever night endurance race in the history of Formula Student. The race will start at 10pm, and the balloons lighting the track make this the high light of this year’s Formula Student Germany in the most literal sense.
Tomorrow, the FSC endurance will take place.
