FSG Workshop in Stuttgart

At 10th of November, 370 students from 37 teams attended the 3rd FSG-Workshop held at the University of Stuttgart. Industry experts and experienced FS-students gave lectures on technical subjects such as cooling or tires as well as on marketing aspects and new rules of the Formula Student Germany.

With a mixture of basic and specialised information, the workshop was an ideal add-on for both older as well as new FS-teams. Especially starter teams could take advantage of getting into contact with experienced students and profit from their knowledge.

Best example was the Stuttgart race car - overall winner 2007 - which the university team displayed during the whole day. The key lecture, held by Dr. Gangolf Kohnen of Toyota Motorsport GmbH, closed the day with technical Details on formula race cars and industry requirements for young engineers.

During the afternoon, a round table discussion between the FSG Board and team captains was very well received and furthered the mutual understanding of organisers on the one side, students on the other. In addition to a general feedback and suggestions of improvement for the event 2008 by the students, the Board explained some of the restrictions they confront in organising the event. They placed special emphasis on the fact, that all people involved are volunteers.
