Formula Student Germany e.V. takes the protection of personal data very seriously and complies with appropriate data protection provisions. Below are the specific details of when we collect data, what data we collect and how we use it.

1. Anonymous data collection
You can use our website without revealing your identity. We only store impersonal access data, such as the name of your Internet service provider, the page you visited us from, the name of the files requested and the access date. This information is evaluated solely for statistical purposes and cannot be used to identify individuals. We only record personal details if you have communicated these to us voluntarily in the course of visiting our website.

2. Use of cookies
We use so-called cookies on some pages to make our website appealing to visitors and to facilitate use of certain features. These are small text files that are stored on your computer. Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard drive once you end your browser session (“session cookies”). In contrast, the so-called “permanent cookies” remain on your computer and enable us, e.g. to highlight your read/unread articles in the Forum. These companies are only permitted to use your personal details as so-called contract data processors to fulfil their tasks on our behalf and are obligated to comply with the appropriate data protection regulations. Aside from these circumstances, however, your personal details will not be passed to third parties.

Email newsletters are only sent to you if you have explicitly subscribed to the corresponding newsletters on our website. If you no longer wish to receive any email newsletters you can contact us using the details below.

You have the right to request information at any time concerning what data we have stored about you and for what purpose this data was stored. 7. Use of social plugins
Our website uses programs (so-called “plugins”) of the social networks Facebook (Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA), Google+ (Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) and Twitter (Twitter Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103).

No data is sent to these companies when you simply visit our website. The actual plugin of the applicable social network is only loaded when you click on the “Like” (Facebook), “g+1” (Google) and “Tweet” (Twitter) graphics.  Your browser then makes a direct connection with the servers of the applicable social network, after which the content of the plugin is forwarded to your browser and is then integrated from this into our website that you are viewing. Simultaneously, the information that you have accessed on our website, together with your IP address and other information where applicable, is sent to the relevant social network. If you are logged in at this point to your personal user account with the applicable social network, then the applicable social network can link access to this site with your user account. You can avoid such a link by logging out of your account with the applicable social network before clicking on the graphics described above.

8. Use of Google Maps
Our website uses Google Maps of Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA to display maps. When you visit our website your browser makes a direct connection with the Google servers, which means that personal data, especially your IP address, is transmitted to Google.

9. Use of web analysis tools
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Only in exceptional cases the whole IP address will be first transfered to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP-anonymisation is active on this website.

The material will be used solely for the purpose of making the event more open and understandable to the public.

In legal terms: By participating in this event, you (the visitor/participant), have given the right for the organisers to send or receive image or video media of yourself, without either party owing special compensation. The organiser is allowed to release this image or video media themselves or forward it onto a third party to release for use in audio-visual, print and online media.
