Formula Student Germany 2011 fully booked

Category: Competition

All available registration slots for Formula Student Combustion and Formula Student Electric have been booked. This means 78 student-built cars for FSC and a further 30 cars for FSE will compete at the Hockenheimring this August: 108 cars in total. This is a record number for Formula Student Germany. Never before, over 100 Formula Student Teams were hosted at an FSG event.

This year, 35 German and 43 international teams from over 20 countries and 4 continents registered for FSC 2011, with a total of 37 teams still on the waiting list. For FSE 2011, 22 German and 8 international teams from 7 countries registered while another 16 teams are hoping to move up from the waiting list.

With this record number of entries, Formula Student Germany is not only bigger than ever before, it will also host the biggest all-electric event worldwide.

As per last year, the registration process involved a rules quiz. Teams that wanted to register for FSC or FSE had to complete a set of questions regarding the competition’s rules before they were allowed to complete their registration. We strongly believe, that this way a fair and transparent registration process is offered to all teams that want to register for FSC or FSE.

New this year was the synchronisation of the registration date for all European FSAE/Formula Student competitions: Formula Student, Formula SAE Italy and Formula Student Germany. The registration procedures for these events also opened on Monday January 17th 12:00 CET. On Monday January 10th the early registration for FSC 2011 opened. On Monday January 17th this was followed with the regular registration for FSC 2011. Finally, on Monday January 24th the registration for FSE 2011 opened.

We congratulate all teams that managed to reserve a slot at FSG 2011, and are looking forward to hosting them in August.
