Formula Student Teams at Bosch Proving Ground Boxberg

Category: 2017, Partners

On July the 8th Bosch opened it’s proving ground at Boxberg to 20 Formula Student teams in order to test their cars for the upcoming events such as Formula Student Germany in Hockenheim.

The teams had the chance to get technical advice as well as test their cars in various dynamic disciplines: endurance, skid pad and acceleration. For the first time there were not only combustion and electric teams participating but also driverless ones.

Bosch itself works on the development of a production-¬ready system for highly automated vehicles driving in urban environments and has invited also FSG representatives to examine the adaption of the new category closely. “It was very fascinating to see the first FS Driverless car self driving on the test track”, so Martin Rous and Sven Herrmann from Robert Bosch Chassis Systems Control in Abstatt. The teams as well as the Bosch associates had a lot of fun and energy – not just because of temperatures of more than 30°C.

All are looking forward to the FSG Hockenheim Event in August!
