The Formula Student Pre Event is an full dynamic event. The saftey of all participants are our main goal. The dynamic events will fellow the FSAE® Rules.

Practise Sessions

  • N° of drivers are not limited per team
  • maximum N° of cars on track: 4
  • maximum laps per stint per car: 10 laps

Acceleration Event

  • N° of runs per car: 8
  • N° of drivers: between 2 and 4 different drivers
  • N° of runs per driver: between 2 and 4
  • Length: 75 m
  • drivers is only allowed to start for one car if team send more then one car
  • cone hits will be penelised with 2 Seconds incl. entry and exit cones

Skid Pad

  • N° of runs per car: 4
  • N° of drivers per car: 2
  • N° of runs per drivers: 2
  • track size: 2 circles of 15.25 m (50.03 feet) diameter in a figure eight pattern. The circle centers will be separated by 18.25 m (59.88 feet), and a driving path 3.0 m (9.84 feet) in width will be marked with pylons. The start/stop line is defined by the
    centers of the two (2) circles. 2nd laps will count.
  • drivers is only allowed to start for one car if team send more then one car
  • A penalty of 0.25 seconds will be added to the time for every cone that is
    knocked “down or out” (including gate cones).

Autocross Event

  • N° of runs per car: 8
  • N° of drivers: between 2 and 4
  • N° of runs per driver: between 2 and 4
  • one lap, flying start
  • fastest run will count
  • drivers is only allowed to start for one car if team send more then one car
  • The cars are judged on elapsed time plus penalties.

Endurance

  • N° of runs per car: 1
  • N° of drivers: 2
  • Length: 22 km
  • Driver change after 11 km
  • no time limit during driver change
  • working on car is not allowed, only adjustment for 2nd driver (pedal box, seatchange)
  • engine start support during driver change is allowed, but will be penelised with 60 Seconds.
  • The cars are judged on elapsed time plus penalties.

Penalties

The following penalties will be added to the elapsed time

  • Cone Down or Out (DOO)
    • Two (2) seconds per cone, including any after the finish line.
  • Off Course
    • Driver must re-enter the track at or prior to the missed gate or a twenty (20) second penalty will be assessed.
    • Penalties will not be assessed for accident avoidance or other reasons deemed sufficient by the track officials.
    • If a paved road edged by grass or dirt is being used as the track, e.g. a go cart track, four (4) wheels off the paved surface shall count as an "off course".
    • Two (2) wheels off will not incur an immediate penalty, however, consistent driving of this type may be penalized at the discretion of the event officials.
  • Missed Slalom
    • Missing one or more gates of a given slalom will be counted as one "offcourse" per occurrence.
    • Each occurrence will incur a twenty (20) second penalty.
  • Misbehaving
    • Aggressive driving, failing to obey signals, not yielding for passing, etc will result in a black flag and a discussion in the penalty box with course officials. The amount of time spent in the penalty box is at the discretion of the officials and is included in the
      run time.

Endurance Track Layout

The Endurance track layout will include all elements of the rules, which means 9 meter hairpins and 70 meter straight. The tracklayout was made for maximum saftey and fun.
